ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. FROM MATANZAS
RIVER. The Matanzas River, practically an arm of the sea,
bounds the city on the east and south, while the San Sebastian
skirts the western border, the two streams making the city a
peninsula. The Matanzas is nearly a mile wide on the city
front, and is spanned by a drawbridge connecting St. Augustine
with Anastasia, rich in historical lore.
