STATE EDUCATION BUILDING
The building is 590 feet long and 107 feet
wide with a wing in the rear 185 feet by 112
feet. The extreme height is 148 feet. It con-
tains the various divisions of the State Educa-
tion Department, including the State Library
and State Museum. It was dedicated in 1912.
Gray granite from Maine is used for the
ż base. The front and end walls and the
columns are of white Vermont marble, the
capitals of the columns being glazed terra
cotta.
