Country, The Mark Twain was named for
America's greatest humorist and world famous
author, who lived and wrote many of his
books in Elmira. He is buried in Elmira's
Woodlawn Cemetery; his study is on Elmira
College Campus. The Mark Twain Hotel,
owned and managed by William C. Emerson,
is considered one of the finest in New York
State.
