RESTAURANT
The original gas lamps that once lighted the streets of
Baltimore now cast a radiant glow to welcome visitors to
the Schrafft's Restaurant and adjoining Martha Washing-
ton Motel at Waldorf, Md., a morning's drive from New
York ... a comfortable day's run from Boston.
Within the restaurant, colonial murals and hanging
lamps, teak paneling and a noted collection of satin glass
combine to create an atmosphere with the grace and
charm of a bygone era ... while no modern detail for the
visitor's comfort has been overlooked.
Here at Schrafft's, travelers and neighbors will find the
hospitality they'd receive on a visit to long-time friends.
Generations of skill and care in the preparation of fine
foods have made Schrafft's famous, and the menus at
Waldorf will feature dishes enjoyed by countless patrons
of Schrafft's in New York and other cities. To them will
be added locally popular food favorites.
For those who can linger for only a light meal or a
refreshing drink, there's also a Coffee Shop and Fountain.
Here is another collection of Americana ... appropriately,
coffee grinders of varied materials and many sizes dating
from 1890.
The restaurant will be under the direction of a resident
member of Schrafft's staff, whose responsibility it is to
maintain Schrafft's high standards of quality and service.
It will be his pleasure to do everything in his power to
please his guests.
Also offered is a Banquet Service for group luncheons,
dinners, card parties and receptions.
For information and estimates on group functions and
advance reservations for motorists, please address: The
