| The fragmentary ruin of Urquhart Castle, built upon a projecting rock on the shore of Loch Ness, is the most picturesque spot on that loch. Loch Ness is 24 miles long, and averages 1.25 miles in width. Its whole length is fringed with mountains, the beauties of which are seen to advantage in making a trip by steamer through the loch. |
