Loch Katrine. Situated to the west of the Trossachs, is eight miles long and averages three quarters of a mile wide. Not only famous for its beauty, but also from its association with Scott's "Lady of the Lake." The "Silver Strand," the meeting-place of Ellen and Fitz James, is shown in the picture. The water supply of Glasgow is derived from the lake. |
