How far the old building is connected with the novel of that name, we know not, but Dickens-lovers may like to know that a few steps away in Lincoln's Inn fields at Forster's house (No. 58) Dickens read "The chimes" to a brilliant group of friends including Thomas Carlyle (Dec. 2nd, 1844). |
