Bend, Oregon, July 3, 1950—
The 18th annual presentation of
the far-famed Bend Water Pa-
geant will get under way tonight
as a flotilla of colorful floats
glides down the water of Mirror
Pond in the heart of the city. In
the spell cast by the dark of a
perfect summer evening, the au-
dience will be grouped along the
grassy banks of the Deschutes
river, amidst towering pine trees
and with the strains of the organ
playing "Some Enchanted Eve-
ning" adding to the romance of
E-Paper
the night. Through a massive
arch, gaily colored by rippling
lights, will come the procession of
16 floats, each with an individual
theme. The night is enchanting,
the spectacle is inspiring. The Pa-
geant is a cooperative production
of the citizens of the community.
People from all parts of the Pa-
cific coast view the unusual fete.
The Pageant will be produced on
two nights, July 3 and 4.
