| Chichester Cathedral. This Cathedral dates from 1088 but the present edifice was mainly built from 1199 to 1500. In 1642 it suffered much from the Parliamentary Army and during recent years extensive restorations have been carried out. It is remarkable for the width of its Nave (91 feet wide). The internal length of the Cathedral is 393 feet, and the height of the spire 277 feet. |
