STELLAFANE CONVENTION
Breezy Hill - Springfield, Vermont
Annual conventions of amateur telescope makers
have been held here since 1926. The Springfield Tele-
scope Makers led by Russell W. Porter began the
hobby of telescope making here around 1920 and it
soon spread throughout the world. Now the convention
draws over a thousand lovers of precision optics,
astronomy and photography from around the world.
This view taken from the clubhouse looks across the
club grounds to Mt. Ascutney in the distance.
Stellafane -, originally Stellar Fane (shrine to the
stars) has this verse over the door — "The heavens de-
clare the glory of God”.
