Topeka, the Capital of Kansas, is the second
largest city in the state. Its chief industries are
flour milling and manufacturing. The General
Offices of the Santa Fe are located here. The
Capitol building is an imposing structure. Topeka
contains the State, City, Washburn, and Bethany
Libraries; Washburn and Bethany Colleges and 23
public schools. It has an extension system of
electric street car lines. Population about 45,000.
