The world's greatest monument, Put In Bay, O. Erected
by the United States Government and the States of Ohio,
Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York,
Rhode Island, Kentucky and Massachusetts, commemorat-
ing the Battle of Lake Erie, Sept. 10, 1813, American hero-
ism in the War of 1812 and a century of peace between
English speaking peoples, and dedicated to the principle of
international peace by arbitration and disarmament. Height,
352 ft.; construction, Milford granite; diameter at base, 45
ft., at neck, 352 ft.; thickness of walls at base, 9 ft. 9 in.,
at neck 5 ft.; diameter of rotunda, 26½ ft. Open air prome-
nade protected by 5 ft. parapet at top, reached by elevator.
Cost in excess of $1,000,000.
