Built 1816-17 within
after the land-
ing on the west bank of Fox river of United
States troops, in August 1816. In this house the
distinguished army surgeon, Dr. William Beau-
mont lived with his family, when stationed at
Fort Howard, 1826-1828, The building in the
rear is the ward room of the hospital.
