Times, of Davenport, Iowa,
pictured herewith, fronts on
Fast Second street, and is 55x
115, two floors and basement.
The front is built of white
glazed terra cotta and pre-
sents an imposing appearance
The building is strictly fire-
proof, the walls being of brick
and the floors and roof of re-
inforced concrete.
The building contains two
features that are entirely new
in newspaper offices in this
country, for the benefit of the
people of the community.
One is a rest room, equipped
with check racks, telephones,
stationery, toilets, and in
charge of a clerk at all times.
The other is a public audi-
torium, seating 200 people,
which is for the free use of
the public for informal gath-
erings of every description,
day or night.
