of Mississippi and Giant gridiron fame.
Ray carried the tradition of the family
and did very well last year with the New
York club. Hard to gain around or
through defensively, he led the club in
pass receptions with 23 and was second
behind Ken Strong in scoring with 24
points. Ray was Charley Conerly's favor-
ite receiver at Ole Miss in 1946. Reunited
again the pair should win additional ac-
claim this season.
