The stern-wheeler Mississippi River steamboat "Gordon C.
Greene" at the levee at Hannibal, Missouri. This is the type
of craft that Mark Twain piloted, and wrote about in "Life on
the Mississippi." "Tom Sawyer," and "Huckleberry Finn." In
the background is the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge, and
Cardiff Hill where the "Widow Douglas" house stood - she
kept an oil lamp in her window to guide steamboat pilots.
