Twin Oaks, the home of Dr. and Mrs. Homer
Whittington, is a charming, rambling old
house, surrounded by green, sloping lawns
and shaded by ancient live oaks.
It was
erected in 1812-13 by Lewis Evans. First
Territorial Sheriff of Mississippi, whose landsi
extended from Natchez and Adams County to -
the Chattahoochee River in Georgia, a matter
of almost six hundred miles.
