CONWAY SUMMIT
Past the Hawthorne Junction, Hwy. 395 skirts the
edge of an extensive meadow belonging to the
family of John Andrew Conway, who settled
here in 1880, and for whom Conway Summit was
named. The crest of the summit affords a pano-
ramic view south over Mono Lake and Craters,
The White Mountains and The Sierra Nevada.
