Why is some seed corn worth
50 dollars more per bushel than others?
Sound impossible? Well, it's true. The real
measure of any hybrid is in the yield of #2
shelled corn per acre. And, when it comes to
yield, P-A-G Hybrids are better today than
ever... farther ahead of other hybrids than
ever before. How do we know? Over 15,000
individual yield checks, each witnessed and
certified, prove it.
Here are the facts: These comparative
yield checks were made side-by-side in
farmers' fields. The results: Genuine Pfister
Hybrids out-yielded the average of all other
major hybrids by nearly 50 bushels for each
bushel of seed planted. This means that
every bag of P-A-G is worth as much as
$50.00 in extra profit for you.
That's the real difference P-A-G quality
makes. Plant it this spring. Run your own
yield check. You'll see why P-A-G is the
most famous name in corn.
THERE'S NO SHORT-CUT TO QUALITY ON HYBRID CORN RESEARCH!
PAG
P-AG quality begins with the development,
selection, and crossing of superior strains of
corn to create better hybrids. Here P-A-G re-
search men hand plant a breeding nursery.
Quality means high germination, too. Every
kernel of P-AG seed is liquid coated to pro-
tect it against soil diseases. Notice growth of
coated seeds at right, compared with un-
coated seeds at left. Both were planted at
the same time.
P-A-G hybrids are bred to perform under ad-
verse conditions. Seedlings in flats were
planted in damp soil, and held at ice box
temperatures for several days When brought
into normal temperatures, plants germinate
and vigor can be proven.
Accurate, uniform grading is another evi-
dence of P-A-G dependability. Proper planter
plate recommendations can make a big dif-
ference in the kind of stand you get. Here a
kernel count is being made to check planting
accuracy.
