LIMERICK GENERATING STATION
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA.
Unit I began commercial operation on Febru-
ary 1, 1986. Unit II is scheduled for completion in
the early 1990's. When completed, this nuclear-
fueled plant will produce more than 2,000,000
kilowatts of electric power. Two large hyperbolic cooling towers have
been designed to preserve the thermal water quality of the
Schuylkill River.
In the foreground is the Information Center which contains a solar
energy system and a garden for environmental monitoring.
