YOAKUM COUNTY COURT HOUSE
Plains, Texas
This view shows the new modern Court House
of Yoakum County at Plains Texas. Nearby is
Ink Basin, a depression approximately 1,000
acres in extent, containing about 20 shallow
water wells dug by Indians-supposedly Mescal-
ero Apaches. There are indications of extensive
Indian occupation-the wells are now dry, hav-
ing been filled with wind-driven sand.
