PORT AUTHORITY West 30th Street Heliport Manhattan's first commercial heliport was opened in 1956. Scheduled passenger, mail and cargo serv- ice between the heliport and Newark, Teterboro, La Guardia and John F. Kennedy International air- ports, and the cities of White Plains, New York, and Stamford, Connecticut is provided by New York Airways' 15-passenger helicopters.
