HISTORIC LIBERTY JAIL
Thousands each year visit the Bureau of In-
formation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints in Liberty, Missouri. This commend-
able structure houses the restored “Old Liberty
Jail” where the Mormon Prophet, Joseph Smith,
with five companions, were held during the
winter of 1838-39.
