LOVE YOU, MOTHER!
First Day of Issue: April 20, 1987
First Issue Location: Atlanta, Georgia
From our earliest childhood, to the time we face the
world as adults, we realize nothing compares with a
mother's love. After all, she's the one who raised us and
watched us grow ... dried our tears when we were hurt
... and reassuringly tucked us into bed each night.
She's the one we could always count on when we
needed to talk to someone. And, perhaps even now,
when things just aren't going right, no one can help like
our mother. Truly, no one could ever take the place
“Mom" has earned in our heart. But, all too often, time
seems to pass us by and we never seize the opportunity
to say the things that ought to be said. Sometimes special
occasions arise when we can express our love to our
mother ... a special time set aside to say “Love You,
Mother!" When those occasions arise, one of the stamps
included in the Messages booklet issued by the U.S.
Postal Service in 1987 can help us do just that. This issue
features four colorful flowers and the words every mother
wants to hear: “Love You, Mother!"
