PIERCE – ARROW
Pierce-Arrow was credited with having the
most famous headlights of any car in the
world. The elongated lamp design, as
featured here, was patented in 1913. The
company's home state, New York, initially
banned the use of these headlights
because of their wide stance placement.
As a result, customers were offered an
optional bracket-mounted
conventional headlight.

DU E S EN BERG
In addition to being one of the most
expensive luxury cars of the classic era,
the Duesenberg was the most powerful.
Movie stars and millionaires paid dearly to
harness the "Duesy's” thrill – with more
than 265 horsepower behind the wheel,
its dual overhead camshaft engine topped
80 miles-per-hour in second gear. The SSJ
featured here was one of only two known
to have been manufactured.
