THANK YOU!
First Day of Issue: April 20, 1987
First Issue Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Thank You! These two simple words can add a whole
new dimension to relationships. Friendships have been
cemented by a simple “Thank you for being my friend."
Marriages have been built on a “Thank you for your love
and for being there." And great, lasting loves have been
founded on a “Thank you for just being you.” Sometimes
just a “Thank you for thinking of me," lets people know
that you care, too. And often, just a simple “Thank you"
can cover a multitude of situations from the special to
the mundane: an unexpected old friend arrives to help
celebrate at a wedding . . . a seat on a bus courteously
offered ... a borrowed book returned ... the salt
properly passed at dinner. We are so lucky to have words
such as these at our disposal to express our sincerest
gratitude. And now, the U.S. Postal Service has given
them to us on a stamp! The stamp is adorned with gaily
colored balloons, floating into the infinity of a sky, the
words “Thank You” stand out beneath the balloon in
bold letters.
