ROYAL PARADE, the first stage in rebuilding blitzed
Plymouth, was opened in 1947 by H.M. King George VI.
The Church of St. Andrew's is the Mother Church of
Plymouth and was the site of a church pre 1087. It was
burnt out in 1941, used as a garden church until re-
consecrated in 1959. The Guildhall next was built in
1874 and re-opened in 1959. The 14-storey Municipal
Building was opened in 1962 by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.
