With rear-loading and side-loading doors, C-133 could handle wide
variety of military cargo including ballistic missiles such as Atlas.
C-133A displayed at USAF Museum, W-PAFB, Ohio set world record
for prop drive aircraft on Dec. 16, 1958 when it carried 117,000 pounds
of cargo to 10,000 feet altitude. C-133s were replaced in 1971 by
larger C-5s.
