IDAHO'S FARRAGUT STATE PARK, SITE OF THE
1965 GIRL SCOUT SENIOR ROUNDUP, situated
at the southern tip of beautiful Lake Pend Oreille,
midway between Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene.
Bayview, "the floating village" is at left center
on Squaw Bay. Buttonhook Bay is the graceful,
unique cove at lower right. Lake Pend Oreille,
glacially formed and over 1,000 feet deep, stretches
away for 50 miles towards the left. The mountains
are the Bitterroots, with Cape Horn at the left
and Bernard Peak at the right. Nearly 400,000 men
trained here at Farragut Naval Training Center
during World War II. Many daughters of those
veterans will enjoy participation in the Girl Scout
Roundup.
