Yessum, I quit dat job, dat was de mos' ridicoles place I'se ebber
been in.
Dey played a game called bridge, and last night dere was lots of
fellas and gals dere. Just as I was fixin to serve 'freshments ah hears a
man say to a woman "take yoh hands off my trick."
Ah jus' neah dropped daid when bless mah heart,. ah hears anoter
man say "you sure got a nice bust."
Den another man says "lay down and less see what you got."
Den ah hears a woman say "you forced me and ah had to take you
out when I had already been down twice."
Den another woman says, "you jumped me twice when you didn't
have stuff enough for one good raise."
An den some women says something about "covering her honor."
Well, ah jes ups and gets mah hat cause ah knowed dat aint no
place fo me and jus as ah was leaving, ah hope to die if a woman didn't
say, "well, I guess we will stop now as dis is my last rubber" and den
doggone if she didn't say "lay down yoh dummy and let me play on it."
No ma'am, ahse a lady and ah jes couldn't stay there.
