Interior of Pearl Mosque.-The
Moti Masjid or Pearl Mosque was
built by Shah Jahan, 1646-53 A.D.
The interior is of marble, white, blue
and grey veined, and the effect is surpassingly
beautiful. In the centre is a marble tank for
ablutions. A marble cloister runs round
three sides of the court, while the mosque
proper consists of three aisles opening on to
the courtyard.
