Greetings from Las Cruces, New Mexico, a
beautiful city in the fertile Mesilla Valley.
Cabeza de Vaca and his three
ż probably passed near
companions
here in 1536 as they
walked from coast to coast-the first whites
to tread New Mexican soil. Settled by the
Spanish colonists, it has been continually oc-
cupied since, being especially adapted to
cotton growing and agriculture. The State
Agricultural College is located here.
