Looking east down Baltimore Street in Cumberland, Mary-
land from the lawn surrounding Emmanuel Episcopal
Church. This historic Maryland city is noted for its hospi-
tality and such products as Celanese cloth, bread, wood
products, and automobile tires and tubes. The first Bal-
timore and Ohio train entered Cumberland in 1842 and
the first canal boat entered the town on the Chesapeake
and Ohio canal eight years later.
