Hoover Dam is equally as beautiful at night as
in day. In this nocturnal view from the Arizona
side, the curved lighted roadway across the dam
stands out like a jeweled necklace on the Colo-
rado River in Black Canyon. Lights from the four
cylindrical power plant intake towers are mir-
rored in the clear waters of Lake Mead. Built by
the Bureau of Reclamation in 1931-36, Hoover
Dam is one of the world's engineering wonders.
