58 Bagley Avenue, Greenfield Village
Additional Details:
This plain red brick shed gave birth to the first Ford car in 1896. The Portentous little building still houses the car, here shown in front, made of bicycle wheels, plumbing pipe. Carriage cushions and other miscellaneous oddities Henry Ford could find or make. The shed originally stood behind the house where Henry Ford and his wife lived in Detroit when he worked as a steam engineer with the Edison electric Company. |
