INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE
SAULT STE. MARIE, MICHIGAN
The International Bridge between Sault Ste. Marie,
Michigan, and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was for-
mally dedicated on May 24, 1963. It crosses the
St. Mary's River which connects Lake Superior
and Lake Huron. This bridge replaces a 75-year-
old ferry service and is approximately 400 miles
distant from the nearest international crossings
to the east and west. Two miles long from plaza
to plaza, The International Bridge stands 137 feet
above ground at its highest point.
