THROUGH TUCUMCARI, N. M.
Here is the Transcontinental Highway going
through Tucumcari, deriving its name from the
Indian name of the nearby mountain. Tucumcari
is a prosperous city, not far from the Texas
line. Stock raising is one of the chief industries
and the nearby Conchas Dam cultivates millions
of acres of rich soil and is also the Summer
playground for Eastern New Mexico.
