COLD CASTLE
In 1858, three years before Kansas became a
state, Baker University began in Old Castle. The
Kibbee-Barricklow cabin replica memorializes an
original pioneer dwelling, site of the decision
naming the university for Osmon C. Baker, the
first Methodist Bishop in the Kansas Territory.
