MOUNTAIN LAUREL FESTIVAL
One of Kentucky's most colorful pageants
is the annual Mountain Laurel Festival held
at Pineville. The choosing of a queen
the coronation by the Governor take place
in a natural amphitheater in Pine Mountain
State Park, near Pineville. Candidates are
selected from the reigning campus beauties
at Kentucky Colleges. The event is held each
year when the blossoms of mountain laurel
cover the pine clad mountains of eastern
Kentucky.
