It is a most unusual dining place because here you get the very
finest food and big portions of it-at prices about half what
other first-class places charge. Does that seem "strange" or
impossible?
Two years ago the North American Restaurant eliminated "service," and
asked its patrons to serve themselves. When you dine here you pay only for
the food you eat plus merely the cost of preparing it-you pay nothing at all
for "service. So although the food can't be beaten, North American
prices are just about half what other restaurants and hotels must charge to
cover the cost of carrying the food to your table.
