YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA
The famous Wawona tunnel tree is located in the Mariposa
Grove of giant Sequoia Redwood trees. It is 234 feet tall
and 27.5 feet in diameter at the base. The Mariposa Grove
contains some 200 trees over ten feet in diameter and thou-
sands of younger trees. The oldest tree in the grove is the
Grizzly Giant. Its age is estimated at 3,800 years. It has a
girth of 96.5 feet and 209 feet tall.
