NOTES OF INTEREST
The new KSL Studios are located on the Salt Lake
City skyline at the head of Main Street. This is
exactly on the Salt Lake Base and Meridian as de-
termined by the pioneers the year of their arrival
in Utah.

The famous KSL transmitter is 15% miles due west
of the city on the shores of Great Salt Lake, where
1712 miles of copper sheeting and wire sunk in the
briny waters near the lake form an incomparable
ground. This water carries a salt density of about
thirty per cent.
Great Salt Lake is in almost the exact geographical
center of the eleven western states. Its shores, there-
fore, offer a magnificent site for a powerful radio
transmitter, to serve the vast western area, and fill in
the gaps, covering the great sparsely settled areas
where consistent broadcasting service is not otherwise
available.
The beautiful Hotel Utah, situated directly oppo-
site the Temple Grounds, is one of America's most
famous hotels. Ideally situated in the heart of Salt
Lake City, the Hotel Utah lives up to its reputation
as "Utah's Hotel Beautiful." Under the management
