KUBC, A Colorado Network Station, Says:
Western Colorado
Has Everything But
Snuggled away deep in the Rocky Mountains is the little
town of Silverton. Every summer this little mining town
attracts a greater number of tourists. The only narrow
gauge train in operation in the United States runs be-
tween Durango in south western Colo. and this little
village. Every day the train is packed with tourists.
As we see here, the train has just arrived and all the
passengers gather around to see a "real Western Hold-
up". People from all over the world come to see this
little town that reeks with antiquity. Some of the out-
standing movies filmed in this area are: Across the Wide
Missiouri; These Thousand Hills; and Ticket to Toma-
hawk. Silverton is located 55 miles south on highway
550 from Montrose in Southwestern Colo.
