Some little boys never grow up, their toys just get more expensive.
Head engineer, mechanic, and gandy dancer, David Weir with his one-fifth
scale train, number 510, manufactured by the Miniature Train Company in
1948. It is a replica of the Southern Pacific Coast daylight passenger train
pulled by an A-B unit General Motors F3 diesel locomotive set.
The train runs year-round (every day school is closed) on a scenic one-half
mile trip in Balboa Park. It's great fun for kids of all sizes and ages.
