Milford Myhre at the Carillon Keyboard. Resident carillonneur since 1968.
Bok Tower's 57-bell carillon was designed and installed in 1928 by John Taylor and
Company, Ltd., of Loughborough, England.
The carillon is played from a keyboard located in a sound-controlled room directly
beneath the bells. The bells do not swing; they are sounded when the carillonneur
strikes wooden keys with his fists or feet. Each key pulls a wire which, in turn,
activates the clapper of the corresponding bell.
