on the banks of the Schuylkill River where
the picturesque Valley Creek empties into it.
Washington's Army laid encamped on these
hills from Dec. 19, 1777, until June 19, 1778,
while the British occupied Philadelphia. No
spot on Earth is so sacred in the History of the
Struggle for Human Liberty as Valley Forge.
