Valley," is older than U. S. being laid out in 1718
by Bienville, a Frenchman. It is a picturesque and
interesting city due to the survival of many of the build-
ings, manners and customs of its original French and
Spanish inhabitants. Best known, is the colorful and
elaborate Mardi Gras Festival.
