FIRST WHITE HOUSE OF THE CONFEDERACY, MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA Located on the Capitol grounds in Mont- gomery, the First White House of the Con- federacy is one of Alabama's most cherished shrines. President Jefferson Davis occupied the house until the government was shifted to Richmond, and many relics are still on display in the house.
