The Alabama State Capitol Building at
Montgomery is said by architects, to be the
most beautiful of the Greek revival state build-
ings in the entire nation. Historians agree that
few buildings in the nation have been the
scene of more colorful and romantic history.
Here is where the Confederate Congress first
met, on the portico of which Jefferson Davis
took the oath as President. The Capitol holds
many relics of the momentous War between
the States period.
