the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau
of Sport Fisheries and Wildlife. It is the eastern-
most national refuge of the lower Mississippi
Waterfowl Flyway. Its primary function is to
serve as winter sanctuary for migrant water-
fowl. The refuge covers a 15-mile stretch of
reservoir between Huntsville and Decatur.
